Well done with this Jason. I've been looking to upgrade and have also been frustrated by the small changes to body design. I wonder if there is a way to control the cameras electronically the way Aquatica used to with its Sony video camera range.
I'm also not too impressed with NIkon's 720p high def video and may well opt for Canon (never thought I'd say that!)

That looks like a great camera and housing combo - thanks for the update

I think these countries (most of which are incredibly poor) should be congratulated for doing something most western nations are too scared or disinterested in doing - protecting their marine environments for the future

I saw the BBC programme where the footage was used. It was superb. Mind you it heklps to have the finance and logistics of the BBC Natural History Unit behind you lol

For anyone thinking of top end camera systems for underwater use, that was a superb review. Very informative. I guess I echo the others comment by asking to see a little clip of footage show just what the RED is capable of.

A good interaction shot, but the subject needs more negative space to move into i think
May 16, 2009
A description of how you got the shot would really make this image
May 16, 2009
An unusual shot - very good
May 16, 2009
Superb image - good composition and enough space to let the subject sit in the frame comfortably
May 16, 2009
A lovely shot - is it a lemon shark?
May 16, 2009
Gorgeous turtle and reflection. Just needed the rest of the turtle in frame
May 16, 2009
What species of shark it this. It looks like a lemon shark?
May 16, 2009
That is both a lovely shot of rarely seen subject and incredibly artistic with the backlight. Maybe a description of how the shot came about
May 16, 2009
That looks incredible, but would have been superb if you could have got the ctenophore in the black water in the lower left third
May 16, 2009
Its good to see species from the frigid wasters of the world - well done
May 16, 2009
That is stunning
May 16, 2009
A lovely portrait. As its an unusual species in an unusual location it would be good to see more of its icey home in the shot
May 16, 2009
I wonder who was watching who?
May 16, 2009
A beautiful technique, which certainly takes a much photographed subject and presents it in an artistic way
May 16, 2009
Good composition. Perhaps a diver with a light would have added the extra something to lift the shot
May 16, 2009
Superb - you have an eye for composition
May 16, 2009
Now that is one snooty looking turtle. I love it
May 16, 2009
A good capture in difficult circumstances well done
May 16, 2009
I would love to know more about your photography. Have you had articles publishing anywhere?
May 16, 2009
Are these creatures at the surface? Or are you on scuba at depth? This is a stunning shot
May 16, 2009
No I stand corrected this is the maddest fish I've seen lol
May 16, 2009
That is the maddest fish I have ever seen
May 16, 2009
How do you find something like that? Must take hours of searching in open ocean?
May 16, 2009
That is an incredible shot. So unusual. What type of gear do you use?
May 16, 2009
That is beautiful. Shame we don't know what it is.
May 16, 2009
This looks tiny? Was it? If so well done at spotting it
May 16, 2009
I guess humna/wildlife interaction shots don't get much better than this! Well done
May 16, 2009
A beautiful nudibranch. Would it have been possible to get a little lower to allow it to stand out against the background more?
May 16, 2009
Great use of Snells window. A difficult shot to expose correctly too. I really like it.
May 16, 2009
I've seen lots of pictures of the sharks here and this one shows just how elegant they are. Good job at showing a great white without it being scary
