Biography of Underwater Photographer Edwin Leschhorn
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, I grew up snorkeling in the warm and clear Caribbean waters.
Started scuba diving at age 15 and got certified as PADI Basic Diver at 17 and PADI Divemaster at 21 (1979).
I put aside my Champion Arbalete spear gun for a second hand Nikonos III and Oceanic 2000 substrobe.
Soon after, I sold the spear gun and never regretted it.
While I was deciding whether to pursue Marine Biology or Medicine, I chose the latter.
Looking back, I think I made the right choice, but still have a strong fondness for marine life and its preservation.
Since I fully qualify as a warm-water-wimp, I dive the Caribbean 2-3 times a year where most of my pictures are taken. Enjoy them.

Light, small and full of features, it is a hybrid between a point & shoot and a SLR; mirrorless with interchangeable lenses and a large sensor, no bulk and no weight. What else can you ask for?
