GEORGE RIGOUTSOS

George Rigoutsos, spent his childhood in Athens and has lived in his birthplace, Syros, for the last twenty years. As an islander of Cyclades and a professional freelancer underwater photographer, he soon combined his two beloved occupations, photography and the sea.
He dives systematically in Greece and abroad and he has taken thousands of pictures which cover a great variety of all aspects of the underwater world such as divers, cages, wrecks, fish, as well as sea mammals and plants of the Greek archipelagos and the Red Sea. He owns a great variety of collected pictures which reveal the beauty of the underwater world.
Articles and pictures of his work have been published in the magazines Georama, Thalassa, Greek Diver, Photonet, Explore Nature and Geotropio, with useful information about the sea world and how to encapture it through the lens. He has been awarded in photo contests like, Austrian Super Circuit, Leica Photo Academy, Athens University, Euro Press Photo Awards, Epson, magazine 'Photographer' and the National Geographic.
