Biography of Underwater Photographer Dave Harasti
I'm a marine biologist based in Nelson Bay - Australia working fulltime as the Research Scientist for the Port Stephens-Great Lakes Marine Park. My PhD is on the conservation of seahorses with particular focus on the biology and ecology of the White's Seahorse.
My research job involves lots of diving undertaking various projects such as reef fish surveys, great white shark tagging, searching for seahorses and saving turtles! I've been diving since 1996 and took up underwater photography to assist in the identification of the various species I encounter. Wide angle photography doesn't excite me... where as searching for and photographing tiny rare critters does!

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
Someone that lets me dive for as long as I like and guides that can find the smallest possible critters.
