Biography of Underwater Photographer George Cathcart
I started shooting in the late 60s with SLRs and worked as a photojournalist through the 70s, early 80s. Then my career changed, and photography became a decreasingly passionate sideline until I took up diving in 2000. Very soon I was shooting underwater, upgrading from simple film to DSLR outfits over time and reacquiring my passion for photography in general.
What I look for in a Dive Operator:
First, attention to safety. Then accommodations for photographers -- adequate wet space on day boats, table space and amenities (compressed air, charging stations, dedicated rinse tanks) on liveaboards.

Good to see that scientists are finally looking at the impact of feeding wild marine animals. I hope next they'll look at the impact of shark feeding dives on wild sharks. There is simply no way to conduct these kinds of operations without significantly altering the behavior of these animals and thus altering the function of the ecosystem.
