Biography of Underwater Photographer Karen Doody

After 25 years working as a designer in the publishing industry in the U.S., Karen moved to Mexico in 2001 with her husband Mike where they own and operate Dive Aventuras. "Diving is my passion. I live it and breathe it. In my travels, I have seen some of the most incredible things imaginable underwater. Through my photography, I try to share my passion and excitement for the mysterious environment that occupies almost 70% of our planet."

What I look for in a Dive Operator:
A professional operator with an enthusiastic staff, excited about sharing their destination and proactive about protecting it. Convenient camera facilities, and staff that know how to handle cameras is a plus. Most of all SLOW, no, I mean REALLY SLOW diving.

Cal: I really enjoyed reading this, particularly the details of problem-solving in less than good conditions. That kind of thing happens so often in our quest for great photos and you certainly did an excellent job of making the most of it!

This shot is so outstanding that when I first saw it I KNEW we would see it scoring well in the annual photo comps this year. Everything about it is so "spot on"...composition, behavior, exposure...Well done Debi! Congrats!

Incredibly informative and for those of us who's brains are more rightside oriented, the illustrations were a big help. I even took notes! Thanks Keri and I can't wait for the next installment! - Karen
