Biography of Underwater Photographer Morten Bjorn Larsen

I started diving in 2002 and got my first Sea&Sea compact camera in April 2007, it completely changed my way of diving. In March 2008 I bought my DSLR, and have never regret it for a second. I just had my first article in the pro scandinavian dive-magazine: DYK - here in september 09, that i'm really pleased about :).

Hi Jason, Thanks! Yes it sure was a lot of fun - but also difficult to get them to swim close enough together .... The shot is taken just after the final at the Freediving World Cup 2009. See more photos at www.mortenbjorn.dk

Just upgraded from Nikon D200 to D300, I never had any problems with the Sea&Sea housing for the D200. But the controls on the MDX D300 are even easier (than on the D200-housing) to use with thick gloves. I have only dived five times with the MDX D300 housing but it has been ice diving, so it was quite a test - everything worked well though.

I agree with stefan all controls are easy to reach even with thick gloves on. I have used it in water temperatures from minus 1,5 celcius to the tropics. And never had any problems with the housing.

I just upgraded from D200 to D300, and even though I love the D200 I can already feel the difference. D300 is much stronger in ISO above 400, as faster auto focus and of course the bigger LCD screen gives a better idea of exposure, sharpness and all those things that can be difficult to see under water. It is a very cold winter in Denmark this year, so I have only testet the D300 5 times - it has been ice diving in with water temp. below zero. But the low temp. does not affect the camera at all.

Snells window, framing, sun rays, a diver in silhouette, close focus wide angle, balanced front and back lighting. And it's still not too much. Brilliant shot!
