My carry-on was checked about three times before my return flight from Johannesburg to Washington, but it went smoothly and there wasn't any hassle with size or weight. However, it wasn't stuffed-full since I didn't have many souvenirs besides digital photos.

Nice article, thanks. Where does the Creative Commons copyright as used at Flickr fit in? Also, I think these laws only apply to US Citizens. Canadians probably have similar laws too. Do you know if there are any similar protections for other nationalities? Are foreigners posting their pictures on US servers protected by US laws?
