Biography of Underwater Photographer Jim Garland

Having trained and qualified as a Zoologist/Animal Ecologist, and now Science Teacher by profession, I have always had a very keen interest in Natural History. This was my main motivation when deciding to take up diving whilst on a 3 month trip through Africa in 1995, learning to dive in lake Malawi. Since then I have become increasingly interested in wrecks and wreck photography. My passion being WW2 wrecks, especially aircraft wrecks.

I am owner of the dedicated wreck photography website WRECKSHOT.COM.

I currently use a Canon EOS 5D, Aquatica Housing, Sigma 15mm FE, Sigma 50mm Macro, Canon 24mm wide, Inon z-240 strobes.

Forgot to mention that it is also known as the Striped Pyjama Squid. Although called a squid it's actually a cuttlefish. It's native to the southern Indo-Pacific, and occurs off eastern, southern and western Australia
