Question rather than comment. Are color filters an alternative to custom white balance, or should they both be used to film in ambient light without strobes?

Hi Tim, thanks for your review as am currently close to upgrading to S95 from Canon 850 IS with Ikelite housing and colour filter. Am choosing to concentrate on ambient light with no strobes, and also primarily video. With HD video the S95 seems the way to go. Only criticism I have seen is the short battery life and awkward location of pop up flash. Not sure re Canon or Ikelite housing. I found Ikelite buttons awkward to use, even without gloves. Can't see any rear pictures of Canon housings so not sure if they are any better. The S95 manual indicates for movie mode that there is an "underwater" white balance preset, something not available on my current camera. Can you confirm this and have you used the preset? Or should one always do custom WB. With ambient light videoing do you use a colour filter as well as custom WB?
Hope you can help my decision, Frank
