Finding the semblance of a face in the openings of a sponge is not at all uncommon, but this is the first time that I have found a scream in the mouth of another screaming face. This area of the sponge (Coelocarteria singaporensis) shown here is about six or seven inches across. Sponges filter water in through the tiny openings and out through the larger openings. Taken in Papua New Guinea with a digital Nikon D2x and 105mm lens.
