Ocean Optics, the dealers, called this a "War horse" and it certainly is! Beautifully machined, balanced and all controls easily accessible you certainly get what you pay for and more. The only slight worry I sometimes have is the non-locking port but taken with care this isn't a worry once under pressure. I'd also like a more definite guideline or "click" to connect and lock in the strobe cables to the body. I'd give this a 4.5 star but since this isn't possible it gets a 5.
This is a superb housing. Egonomics and buoyancy are exceptional. This is my second Subal housing, and I have never had an issue with the bayonet port attachment. I have both the single TTL cable and manual cables, and once again have not had any problems or issues with the o-ring/screw down attachment system.
The only modifications I have made are to replace the handles so I can mount arms and strobes on them, rather than on the housing. I use a quick release so I can pop a strobe off the handle for different lighting effects.
To me the biggest negative is price, but the unit is so well manufactured I will keep purchasing Subal gear. Subal's glass optics are also superb.
