Although this camera is now older technology, it makes a terrific underswater camera. They are still available either slightly used or even new on sites like ebay. The fact that you can pick them up for around $500 now really adds to their appeal in my opinion.

They are 8mp with a CMOS sensor and for the cost of a new dSLR, you can buy three of these, having backups in case of a flood.

Obviously this camera may not work in all circumstances, but considering the cost it is an excellent camera.

The camera takes good pictures and the 8MP is large enough for poster size prints. My objection, both above and below water, is the small, compared to later models, LCD. Particularly underwater through a housing window, the LCD is hard to see.
