Amphibico brought the "big" Amphibicam's servo controls to this housing. For me, operating the iris wheel was a real surprise - easy and enables the videographer to fine tune the iris. The same goes for the zoom controls as well.
If you have never an Amphibico housing be prepared for a bit long learning curve - in order to memorize all the functions you have to work hard. I advice to make a laminated sheet with all the options and attach it to the back of the housing.
Be very careful and follow closely the enclosed manual. There are many O-rings which have to be attached in a pre-defined order.
Users must get used to the significant distance between the LCD window and the port.
The port can be replaced with a separately sold special dome and a wide-angle adapter (so far not tested by us).
The number of prepared light attachement brackets could be higher, other Amphibico housing used to have much more.
The housing can be disassembled into two separate parts, which could help travelling (if you have some fellow divers...), because it can be shipped in two pieces.
The overall balance of the housing is excellent. Unfortunately the previous generation Discovery Pro light battery pack can not be attached by default to the housing. It is, however, possible, but requires special brackets.
The 4 external connections can be prove very useful in certain shooting environments.
