If photography is all about capturing light, it doesn’t get much better than Christian Vizl’s underwater studio in the cenotes of Mexico.
The Mexican-born underwater photographer captures the natural beauty of these freshwater caves, blurring the lines between photography and art. “My photography is an expression of myself; an extension of my being in this world,” says Vizl. “It is a genuine reflection of my thoughts and my emotions transformed into images, and is a way to convey how I feel and interpret the world around me.”

An enthusiast photographer since the age of 15, Vizl turned pro in 2010 and since then hasn’t looked back. His images have appeared in numerous publications including DPG. For more on Christian’s photography, check out his website.
