Video: How to Clean Your SLR Sensor

Video: How to Clean Your SLR Sensor

June 24, 2011 @ 06:01 PM (EST)

Ever see an annoying black speck show up in the same place in all of your images? Chances are your sensor is dirty. The enemies of o-rings - dust, hair and others - are a sensor's worst nightmare as well.

While many have there sensors serviced by a professional, if you are in the field this may not be an option. With the right gear you can clean your camera's sensor yourself. However, be warned before you start, sensors are very sensitive and can be damaged while being cleaned so be very careful. If you don't feel comfortable trying it yourself, it is probably better to wait for someone that is.
