The World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council is planning to add 10 new young ocean leaders from around the world in 2018. Online applications are due by December 1, 2017, so if you’re interested, don’t delay!
The Youth Advisory Council assists in expanding the reach and impact of World Oceans Day, on 8 June, but also throughout the year. Council members help shape the development of World Oceans Day, and provide new and unique perspectives, ideas, and recommendations. The inaugural Council, which was launched in 2016, had 11 members, and the Council will be doubled in size for 2018, encompassing youth from a wider range of countries.
Applicants must have a passion for the ocean, be between the ages of 16 and 22, and willing to make a minimum two-year commitment, including approximately 5–10 hours per month to Council activities.
Read the Youth Advisory Council Handbook (PDF) for more information about the Council and requirements.
