
Worst Shark Finning Offenders

You may think that illegal shark finning is only a problem in the Coral Triangle, but newly released results from PEW and the United Nations reveals that it is truly a global problem.
While Indonesia and India list in the top three worst offenders, the “underdog” Spain listed in at third. The results highlight the globalization of shark fishing and an increased pattern of western countries cashing in on the skyrocketing demand for shark fins in China- North America reported the same amount of average net weight caught as India.
