Woman's 'shark Tale' Has Happy Ending

Nikki Wernke hoped her shark tale would end happily. The Dubuque resident created an on-line petition in June, asking Da Vinci's restaurant to cease serving a meal that included a threatened shark species called Mako. "I waited until I had 100 signatures, then I e-mailed (Da Vinci's co-owner) Scott Neuwoehner," Wernke said. Neuwoehner responded by e-mail soon after: "I am quite impressed that you went through this much trouble to make this happen. Your efforts will not be without reward, we will not be ordering Mako shark again!"
