Will Algae Save The Day?

Scientists have decoded genomes of two strains of green algae, highlighting genes that allow them to capture carbon emissions and maintain the oceans' chemical balance, according to a recent study.

The strains' productivity as a significant source of marine food and their ability to capture carbon means the algae can influence the carbon flux and have an impact on climate change, according to the study published in Friday's edition of the journal Science...

Once again another bad idea that will lead to people screwing up the ocean ecosystem yet again. Why not reduce our wasteful lifestyles instead of creating more man made garbage that is suposed to save the day yet will most likley cause a new and worse problem than the original.
