While some of us were gearing up for the Fourth of July fireworks, on the other side of the globe in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, a few lucky guests at Siladen Resort and Spa were rewarded with their own explosive display—of baby turtles.

Captured in the video below, the emerging hatchlings first number just a handful, but before long well over a 100 new turtles scramble out of the nest, ready to start their new lives in the waters of Bunaken‬ Marine Park.

Siladen launched their conservation program to protect and safeguard turtles in 2004, with staff trained by marine biologists to handle turtle eggs and manage hatching grounds. To date more than 1,000 turtles have hatched through the program.
