Vivid-Pix’s Land & Sea Scuba software—which previously only worked with JPEG files—has received a major update with support for DNG/RAW files. According to the press release (below), the Windows version of the software now allows users to work with Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sealife RAW, DNG, TIFF and JPEG files.
The company has also enlisted the help of photo pro Cathy Church to provide instruction on using the new software with a series of video tutorials.
If you want to try out the software, check it out on the Vivid-Pix website. Currently, the new file formats are only compatible with the Windows version; Mac support is promised in the future.

Vivid-Pix announces DNG/RAW support for LAND & SEA SCUBA software, Cathy Church video tutorials
Acclaimed photographer/instructor Cathy Church to provide video instruction of new capabilities
Alpharetta, GA (November 1, 2017) – Vivid-Pix, the inventor of easy-to-use image-improvement software, announced Vivid-Pix LAND & SEA SCUBA Picture-Fix software for Windows now supports Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sealife RAW, DNG, TIFF and JPEG images.
“Photographers, photo instructors, retailers, and many pros within the scuba and photo industries love our software, but asked us to support these other file formats… and we listened,” explains Rick Voight, CEO of Vivid-Pix. “We then considered how to best help folks learn how to use the software. Who better than Cathy Church, who already teaches photographers, instructors, stores, and dive operators how to get better photos!”
“I was thrilled when Rick asked me to develop his training tutorials,” says Cathy Church, underwater photo pioneer, author of six books, countless articles, and owner of Cathy Church Photo Centre in Grand Cayman. “Since before Vivid-Pix was a company, I’ve been amazed at what Randy [Fredlund] has accomplished with the software development – and now by adding these other formats, everyone can enjoy the fun and easy-to-get terrific underwater and topside photos.”
“As more and more cameras and photographers began using file formats beyond JPEG, the need to expand the capabilities of our software became apparent,” explains Randy Fredlund, CTO of Vivid-Pix. “The software programmers rose to the challenge and the resulting software and images tell the story.”
Vivid-Pix LAND & SEA SCUBA Picture-Fix software is available for free trial and for purchase at https://vivid-pix.com/land-sea-plus.html and affiliate retailers. RAW, DNG, JPEG and TIFF image format capabilities are available now for Vivid-Pix Windows software. Expanded image formats will be released for Mac OS in the future.
