One of the scariest if not the scariest facts about marine microbes is their abundance and the number of different species that exist.  According to Dr’s Sogin and Zettler there are so many species we won’t even be able identify all of them…  Not all bad and some so vital other species would cease to exist if their friendly microbes were eliminated…
 
Dr. Sogin is slightly prejudiced, in regard to microbes, they are his life’s work.  He sees the good and detrimental sides of marine microbes and plays no favorites…
