Video: Man Jumps in Lake to Save Drone
By Joseph Tepper, June 5, 2018 @ 01:31 PM (EST)

What would you do to save your beloved drone? One man decided to shred any semblance of couth and jump into a lake to save his drowning drone. And it’s all caught on video!

Droner Dave Svorking was flying his quadcopter when the battery died in the middle of the flight. Unfortunately, the drone was flying high above a large lake and appeared headed for a watery grave.

That’s when Svorking – clothes and all – ran into the water and began frantically swimming towards the freefalling drone. It’s hard to tell if the rescue itself is more amazing than the luck that the drone managed to record the whole thing. The video is worth a watch—and you can admire Svorking’s dedication.

We’ve heard some crazy stories from underwater photographers about drones lost to the sea. And that brings us back to the question: “What would you do to save your drone?”
