Video: How to Fly with Batteries
By Joseph Tepper, May 17, 2018 @ 07:10 PM (EST)

You don’t want to be that photographer whose camera battery’s explosion causes mass chaos at the airport. Which is why this video is worth your time.

Photo blog “The Slanted Lens” has published a video tutorial on how to easily (and safely) fly with your camera and drone batteries. The rules and restrictions on how to pack and how to check in lithium ion batteries may seem quite complicated at first. And the last thing you want to do is have security remove your batteries—or start a fire!

Of course, this video is specific to airports controlled by the TSA. And as underwater photographers travel to all corners of this blue earth, it’s worth double checking the battery rules with your specific airline.
