Spec sheets are a funny thing. When we see the announcement of a new mirrorless camera like the Panasonic GH5, we immediately scroll to the specifications.
Here’s what we’ve got on paper: 20.3MP Live MOS sensor, 5-axis image stabilization, 225 autofocus points, and the ability to shoot a variety of video formats including—most notably—UHD 4K 60p (150Mbps, 4:2:0 8-bit).
But it’s not until we see the product in the field that those specs come to life. Fortunately, the gear heads at Backscatter have been toying around with this mirrorless video machine to produce some pretty impressive test footage.
“This awesome mirrorless system shoots 4K 60p video and can capture some great underwater color with manual white balance WITHOUT a filter,” Backscatter posted on Facebook.
Filmed in Monterey Bay and the Philippines, the footage shows the tremendous white balancing capabilities. Learn more about the Panasonic GH5 for underwater photography, here.
