Underwater Photography With Models: Dive Into Your Imagination
By Jason Heller, October 14, 2008 @ 02:00 AM (EST)
A couple of months ago, our good friend Annie Crawley, a professional videographer and photographer from Santa Barbara, launched Dive Into Your Imagination, a company that brings the ocean to all ages through entertaining educational documentaries, photography and writing. Anybody who knows Annie knows how passionate she is about the ocean and about educating tomorrow's generation in an effort to conserve it. We are very proud of everything she has achieved in this regard so far.

The website provides tips for parents on how to get children to love the water, a Kid’s Corner, including cool printer-friendly coloring pages, educational videos, and every week a new Cool Scientist is featured and asked why their research is important.

Dive Into Your ImaginationDiveIntoYourImagination.com is not entirely geared towards kids and parents. The site also includes photography & video tips and techniques, and launched with two short videos in particular that we are very proud of.

One of the videos features another friend and colleague, Jon Davy from SEA&SEA, and focuses on his young kids, who are  so comfortable underwater that they are already moving on to underwater photography! Jon is certainly bringing up a couple of future photographers. The other video was shot on location at the DivePhotoGuide Underwater Photo & Video Festival at Wakatobi this past March. The video features  our very own Wendy Heller and yours truly, Jason Heller, on a real underwater shoot, and provides some basic tips on working with models and underwater modeling.

Again, we are very proud of Annie who is breaking past the scuba diving industry and helping to educate all of our children about the ocean and what it means. Her efforts are as insipiring as her imagery. In fact, you may have noticed that many of my presentations and slideshows end with a call to ask yourself "What have you done for the ocean lately?", I owe the inspiration to Annie Crawley.
