Nov 1-8, 2008

Description Statia:Mauricio Handler Underwater Photography

This years Caribbean Workshop will take place on the beautiful and quaint Island of St. Eustatius (Statia), just a short 10 minute flight from St. Martin In the Netherlands Antilles. This Island offers all the charm of the old Caribbean with no crowds and a laid back atmosphere.

The diving is varied here. Dive sites include old and modern wrecks, in particular the 300 foot ship Charlie B. There are historical sites with cannons and old anchors and reefs teaming with lobsters and schooling fish, a result of the no take National Park protection status. For our macro the volcanic sands harbor unique fish life like the Flying Gurnard and Pipe fin blennies amongst other gems.

Description Sipadan Water Village
The Sipadan Water Village Resort on the island of Mabul is built on wooden stilts over the Celebes Sea in Malaysia. Mabul and Kapalai are probably the most exciting places in the world for macro marine life in the wild and great for underwater photographers and divers alike. Sipadan Island is world-famous for its biodiversity and marine life abundance.
