The new Mobi-TTL converter (left) and the Olympus-compatible version (right)
Last year, we brought you a “s-hell” of a new piece of gear: The world’s smallest TTL electronic-optical converter called the i-Turtle.
The company behind the device – called TRT-Electronics – has announced an update to the line of converters. The new “Mobi-TTL” converts the electronic signal from the hotshoe of a DSLR to an optical signal, which is read by your strobes’ fiber optic cables. The mobile TTL converter comes in Canon and Nikon versions.
Changes to this model include a boost in LED power. As well, the converter becomes even more versatile: You can attach the Mobi-TTL anywhere there’s space in the housing using Velcro.
TRT-Electronics also announced a brand new variation to its converter line. The o-Turtle TTL converter is designed to work with Olympus mirrorless cameras. It attaches directly to the hotshoe flash and allows for rear curtain or front sync for maximum lighting creativity.
Check out more information on both of these (and other) converters on the TRT-Electronics website.
