The Nudibranches - Jewels Of The Sea

Some time ago I was in a mega-store of electronic articles and I noticed, to my surprise, that all the televisions of a well-known Japanese make were contemporarily broadcasting the images of a beautiful nudibranch : beyond the ocean, obviously, the technicians had believed that they were the best images to show the chromatic possibilities of the television sets of last generation. How can we blame them? The nudibranches with their gaudy liveries, are uncontested champions of the underwater world, that is not certainly poor of colors or forms and they seem never to stop fascinating even the most expert scuba divers. Their popularity is also a sign of the change of times within the scuba diving that is not made only by sharks, devil fishes and strong emotions, but that can also appreciate these small jewels. Yet still today, although very popular, nudibranches are studied little and so many aspects of their behavior are mysterious, while waiting for new projects of study on the field. Although every year new books are published aiming at knowing them better, it is not infrequent to observe and to photograph some species not classified yet...
