Sustainable Seafood Guides, Bay Islands and Cozumel
Coral Reef Alliance partners in Cozumel and the Bay Islands of Honduras have developed sustainable seafood guides specific to their respective destinations. The guides allow consumers to easily identify which seafood options are the most locally sustainable.
The guides provide provide some general information about sustainable fishing and why it's important to make certain choices when selecting seafood. Local species are broken down into three categories - Best Choices, Good Alternatives or Cautious Choices and Avoid Eating. The guides also define these groupings and explain why some choices should be avoided.
The two guides, "Sustainable Consumption Guide - Cozumel Seafood," and "The Bay Islands Responsible Seafood Guide" can be downloaded in PDF format from CORAL.org
