Passengers on a whale watching tour out of Long Beach, California on Wednesday, March 9th, were treated to a very rare sighting - a pod of sperm whales.
While sperm whales are seen here in small groups or individually, according to Alisa Schulman-Jangier of the Gray Whale Census and Behavior Project, a pod of this size has not been seen for at least 30 years.
