As part of its presentation at Photokina, Sony has previewed plans to release 12 new E-mount lenses in the coming months. That would bring the cumulative total of Sony E-mount lenses to 60. Hopefully, some will even be of use for the dichotomy that is the desired focal length for underwater photography.
The company has said the lenses will focus on speed and—interestingly—artificial intelligence. One specific use would be to train the camera and lenses to work together to track the eyes of animals—a boon for underwater photography and other wildlife imaging.
