Sony Confirms Resumption of NEX Production
By Joseph Tepper, November 16, 2011 @ 07:00 AM (EST)
Photographers chomping at the bit to get their hands on a shiny, new NEX-7 camera where let down in October when Sony announced they were halting camera productions due to flooding in Thailand. Nearly a month later, however, Sony USA confirmed that the Thai production of the NEX will resume soon.
Sony moved production of the NEX and SLT lines to its southern plant in Thailand to speed up production in an area less effected by flooding. Although spokesmen announced resumed production, they failed to amplify on how the shutdown would effect future shipments while the company continues to determine specific dates.
