“Skerry” Cold- Nat Geo Photog Begins Project off of New England
If you ever wanted to know what it’s like diving with a National Geographic photographer, a new article published in the Boston Globe might be your driest option.
The article, which focuses on Nat Geo’s Brian Skerry’s 5-year endeavor to chronicle sea life off the New England coast, makes you feel like you are on assignment with the award-winning photographer as he sifts through the cloudy, cold water.
“A scene that has grace is often gentle,” said Skerry, explaining how he goes about creating his style. “It has a beauty that makes your eye move around the picture in a lyrical way.”
While Skerry’s latest multi-year project might be demanding both physically and technically, he may face even a greater challenge in the upcoming months—headlining as a judge for DPG’s Our World Underwater international photo competition
