It's not something you see every day, a prominent shark scientist saying that the population of white sharks off of California is doing just fine and that they do not need to be listed as threatened and endangered. Dr. Chris Lowe, a Professor of Marine Biology at CSULB and Director of their Shark Lab says just that in a letter he wrote to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. In his letter he states that the white shark population is actually on the rise thanks to conservation practices and other factors, making it a model success for conservationists.
