SeaLife Introduces SL980 Photo/Video Light

By Joseph Tepper, September 1, 2011 @ 11:59 PM (EST)

SeaLife has announced the introduction of their SL 980 Photo/Video Light, a new 500-lumen light as ideal for photo and video as it is serving as a dive light.

The SL980 boasts an LED lighting system organized into three sets of 6,500K-color-balanced 3-watt Cree XP-G R5 LEDs. The result is an impressive 70-degree beam angle that is effective for video as far as three feet away from the subject and two feet for stills. Equally impressive is the ability to transform the 3-in-1 light into a dive light.

The SL980 also features a “Flash-Cancellation Mode” that can dim the light when an external flash is sensed. A Power Overdrive mode can increase the power up to 600 lumens for a full two minutes and the blinking mode can be used to signal distress. The SL980, which is depth rated to an impressive 300 feet, has a suggested retail price of $369.95 and is available from any SeaLife dealer.
