SeaLife Announces 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DC2000
By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, June 4, 2018 @ 02:00 AM (EST)

SeaLife has announced a compact 0.75x wide-angle conversion lens that increases the field of view of their DC2000 underwater camera by 33%. The attachment gives the camera’s built-in fixed lens a field of view of 66.5 degrees underwater—up from 50 degrees—allowing users to get closer to bigger subjects like sharks and reef scenes.

The wet lens features two optical glass elements with anti-reflective coatings, is depth-rated to 164 feet, and weighs in at just 5.5oz. The lens comes with a 52mm DC adapter ring for press-fitting to DC-series cameras like the DC2000, but the 52mm thread makes it possible to screw the attachment onto other compact housings.

The SeaLife 0.75x Wide-Angle Conversion Lens is available now and retails for $199.

SeaLife® Introduces New 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion Lens for DC2000 Camera

MOORESTOWN, NJ – SeaLife, the leading maker of underwater imaging gear, introduced a new 0.75x Wide Angle Conversion lens that compensates for the water’s magnification effect (i.e. refractive index), increasing underwater field-of-view by 33% allowing underwater photographers to get closer to the subject and still fit everything into the frame.

The 0.75x lens design uses high grade 2-element optical glass components that deliver crisp edge-to-edge sharpness. All internal optical elements are fully, multi-coated to prevent glare and maximize light transmission. “The 2-element optical design makes this lens lighter, more compact and less expensive than any other wide angle lens we have ever developed.”, says Bjorn Harms, SeaLife’s Vice President of Product Development. “Gaining the extra field of view allows divers to shoot larger subjects while maintaining a closer shooting distance.”

The lens fits all SeaLife DC-series cameras and other cameras with a 52mm thread mount, and comes with a 52mm DC adapter ring (SL977). Easily attach and remove this lens both on land and underwater. The SeaLife Conversion Lens is waterproof to 164ft/50m and weighs only 5.5 ounces (155 grams) making it travel friendly and easy to handle underwater.

The new conversion lens is available now with pricing as follows:
