Sea & Sea Releases RDX-600D Underwater Housing

By Joseph Tepper, July 1, 2011 @ 01:55 PM (EST)

Sea & Sea has announced the release of the RDX-600D, the latest housing for Canon’s 600D/Rebel T3i.

The RDX-600D is the latest in Sea & Sea’s lineup of polycarbonate housings for beginner-level SLRs, designed to combine “technology and economy.” The housing accepts Sea & Sea’s line of NX, CX, and RDX ports, giving even the entry level SLR user access to a large selection of popular lenses.

The housing comes standard with two fiber optic ports, as well as the option to add one five-pin port- both with TTL capability. The RDX-600D is depth rated to 200ft (60m), and comes with Sea & Sea’s full array of anti-leaking measures such as dual locking latches and internal port locking system. According to the company, most camera functions are accessible and can be operated underwater with ease.

Alone, the housing retails for $1395; but alternate add-ons like the Grip Stay L Tray and Handles (Backscatter-$319) are designed for the more dedicated underwater shooter. More information can be found in the products page on Sea & Sea’s official website
