By Ian Bongso-Seldrup, July 28, 2020 @ 09:00 PM (EST)

Salty Surf Housings is taking preorders for its new surf housing for the RED Komodo, a brand new Super 35 6K cinema camera. In addition to the camera, the housing accommodates two Canon BP-975 batteries (or smaller), and an Atomos Shinobi monitor with battery (NP-F770). The camera’s physical controls are mirrored on the top plate of the housing.

Depth-rated to 66 feet (20 meters), the housing is machined from aluminum and comes with integrated side handles. The housing features Salty’s S-System port system, offering compatibility with lenses up to 105mm diameter. A wide variety of very cool paint options are offered.

Available in September 2020, the new housing has a base price of AU$4,950, which is just over US$3,500 (without port).
