Sabah plans to continue to protect its marine parks, mainly Taman Pulau Pulau Penyu. Using turtles as flagship species, Sabah parks protects the charismatic sea turtles, and by default, the coral reefs the turtles need.
However, to make sure the coral reefs are getting the protection they require, Sabah parks has put together a monitoring program.
The monitoring program will use conventional coral check techniques and will take place in startegical areas and focus on long term research.
DivePhotoGuide takes their hats off to Sabah Parks for putting together a thoughtful monitoring program and being dedicated to protecting those fantastic reefs they have over there.
