Well, that was quick. Just a month after Canon announced their new full frame mirrorless camera—the EOS R—we are hearing rumors that two more bodies will be announced sometime in 2019.
The first new model will sit slightly below the EOS R in price point and specs. Meanwhile, the second model is expected later in 2019 and will be marketed as a professional-level camera. As CanonRumors notes, the term “professional” is slightly vague and could either be a high megapixel camera for studio work or something more akin to Canon’s existing flagship DSLR (in a mirrorless format).
There’s also the possibility that Canon will release a cropped-sensor (APS-C sensor) camera in their EOS R line—but this would be way down the line. Along with the two full frame mirrorless cameras coming in 2019, Canon is expected to announce at least four new DSLRs. Dive in to more of Canon’s tittle-tattle over on CanonRumors.com.
