Rumor- Nikon D800 Expected Early Next Week
It seems that you can’t make a camera company water tight nowadays—Nikon has leaked that the long-awaited 800 full frame DSLR is likely due out on February 6.
The leak of release date comes after the company “accidentally” released images of the camera last month. It is rumored that while the D800 will be a smaller version to the top-of-the-line D4 (like the D700 to the D3), Nikon’s latest full frame DSLR will focus more on low noise and high resolution, possible sporting an impressive 36 MP sensor. That would make it the highest resolution camera excluding medium format shooting.
Based on the success and variety of housings for the D700, and with more improvements on the way, we expect the D800 to be a major player in the underwater photography industry. Make sure to stay tuned to DPG for continued updates on the release of the D800 and the housings to follow.
