Report: Canon Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Announcement Soon

Now that the major Nikon mirrorless announcement is in the rearview mirror we return to our regularly scheduled programming of rumors and speculation. All signs point towards an imminent announcement of Canon’s full frame mirrorless competitor—the EOS R

The announcement is expected to be sooner rather than later; although Canon has been more tight-lipped with their mirrorless camera announcement than Nikon. Canon Rumors expects a series of lenses to be announced with the EOS R including an RF 35mm, RF 50mm, and RF28-70mm.

An adaptor that allows use of existing DSLR lenses to the new mount is likely as well. This will be key as the new mirrorless lenses aren’t ideal focal length ranges for underwater photography purposes.
