Pre-Trip Coverage, Socorro Expedition
By Jason Heller, March 21, 2009 @ 01:00 AM (EST)
"Live" from the field pre-trip coverage of the DPG underwater photography & video expedition to Socorro. Currently we are in Cabo San Lucas waiting welcoming expedition guests prior to the the 250 mile sea crossing from here to Socorro.
From the beach we have been watching humpbacks breaching, and pods of frolicking dolphins. We've heard that Solmar V, our home for the next 9 days, has been seeing humpbacks underwater for the first time this season. We're excited and will be reporting back whenever we gain internet access, quite possibly not until we return. Here are a few images and a quick video from the last 24 hours or so in Cabo...

When in Rome Mexico ... I had to do a fun concept shoot of an underwater
Luchador (Cabo Libre maybe?). This is Ethan, the 11 year old nephew of our
friend Alisa Bechthold. Thanks for doing this Ethan, you rock!
