PMA 2007 - Nikon Booth Report

Nikon's booth shows off the company's huge range of imaging solutions, including all of the latest digital camera models. As you'd expect for a company that just unveiled no less than eight new compact cameras and a ten megapixel digital SLR, the booth was invariably packed with people. In fact, we'd go as far as to say that Nikon's presentations were the best-attended of any company at the show. It seemed that every time we walked past the Nikon booth, the gathered crowd was such that a nearby staircase doubled as extended seating! Among the company's PMA launches was the Nikon D40x - an update to the existing D40 digital SLR with ten megapixel resolution, a faster three frames-per second burst mode, and improvements to both battery life and ISO sensitivity. Other announcements included the Coolpix P5000 (10 megapixels, 3.5x zoom), Coolpix S50 and S50c (seven megapixels, 3x zoom, and wifi connectivity in the latter camera), Coolpix S200 and S500 (seven megapixel, 3x zoom, and optical vibration reduction in the latter camera), and finally the Coolpix L10, L11 and L12 (with resolutions of five / six / seven megapixels respectively, coupled to 3x zoom lenses)...
