
Pentax Announces Optio WG-1 and WG-1 GPS

This week, Pentax announced its latest in the series of rugged compact cameras to be released in April: the Optio WG-1 and WG-1 GPS.
The two new cameras are tougher than previous models, being crushproof up to 220 punds of force, waterproof down to 33 feet, withstanding cold temperatures down to 14°F, and shockproofand shock resistant for drops of up to 5 feet.

The cameras also feature a 14MP sensor, 28-140mm zoom lens, 2.7” LCD display, and HD video recording at 720p. The GPS-enabled camera will retail for $399.99, while the brother without the ability to “geotag” photos will sell at $349.95. More information can be found on the Pentax website.
