Danish company Paralenz has announced an action cam of the same name designed specifically for underwater use by scuba divers. Depth-rated to 200 meters (650 feet), the Paralenz can capture 8-megapixel stills and record 4K footage at up to 30fps and 1080p at up to 100fps. The Paralenz’s biggest claim is that it automatically corrects color by detecting your diving depth using a built-in pressure sensor.
Weighing in at 161g (5.7oz), the Paralenz can also act as a dive computer, logging your dive and allowing you to connect to an accompanying app to generate your dive profile, and capturing the time and depth your images and video were recorded. There’s a storage slot for a microSD card up to 128GB.
A 3rd Person Viewer is also available that turns the Paralenz into an underwater selfie stick, mounting on your BCD with a magnet and filming you from behind—if that’s your thing.
The Paralenz can be ordered from the Paralenz website for €649 ($599).
