Panasonic Announces Waterproof 1080 Mobile Camera
By Joseph Tepper, April 7, 2011 @ 09:00 AM (EST)
Panasonic has announced their latest, rugged HD mobile video camera- the HM-TA20. The camera alone is waterproof down to 10 ft, shockproof to 5 feet, and can shoot 8mp still and full 1080p HD video.
“The Panasonic HM-TA20 shoots in full-HD 1920 x 1080 videos, and records in the MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), which is convenient for editing images with a computer and uploading files to the Internet. The HM-TA20 includes an integrated USB terminal in its compact body and after editing images within the camera, the user simply connects the camera to a computer and the built-in software, which must be installed first, will then always launch automatically upon connection.”

While it seems housing manufacturers have yet to invest in products for waterproof, compact video cameras, the portability and durability of such video devices is an affordable option for snorkeling, the beach, and even boat rides.
