Panasonic Announces First Micro Four-Thirds Camcorder
By Matt J. Weiss, April 12, 2010 @ 11:43 AM (EST)
Building off the success of its Micro Four-Thirds still cameras, Panasonic has released the first dedicated Micro Four-Thirds video camera -- the AG-AF100. The AG-AF100 is capable of recording 1080p HD video onto two SD cards at variable frame rates using Panasonic's current line up of Lumix G lenses.
Panasonic says that the camera is targeted to the video and film production communities. While this professional camera will not compete with the quality of the RED and the like, it's interesting new step in the world of digital imaging -- a video camera with a DSLR sensor.
I hope we see a housing for it in the future, but it won't be for a while. No word on price point yet either, but we will keep you posted.
